Europe. Always wanted to go but never had the money, or never had the time. However, after a fortuitous tax return and a little bit of saving, I bought my ticket to London and went on less than 2 weeks notice for friends and family. It would seem much of my family did not know I was going, so apparently I didn't verbalize a lot of the mulling over I did. That must be a first for me!!
As usual, I was wide-eyed and bushy-tailed with big plans to see everything. I wanted to see Wales, Normandy, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Once I was there, I didn't get past Wales and Ireland. Far from being a complaint, this was the very reason I made no concrete plans and played it completely by ear. I had a great time wherever I went, and I can't wait to go back!
Although the trip got a little more expensive than I intended, I did learn that it can be done for very cheap if you make an effort to be frugal. This is particularly true if you can avoid spending $600 on beer inside a month like some people who shall remain nameless.
