Top Of the World, Ma!

A day and a half of climbing and we hit the summit of Mt. Cameroon (4095m). We had a great time in spite of the hard work....little did we know that we had barely begun! The journey down was far tougher and longer than the journey up although the reward at the end of the trip was the best tasting beer I have ever had. The Yaounde Zoo

We were taken on a whirlwind tour of the Zoo in Yaounde our first weekend in Cameroon. Take a look at some of the friendly and not so friendly critters who call Africa home.

Gorillas in the Rain!

Ok, we didn't see any Gorillas, but Tom and I enjoyed a nice weekend in the forest hiking, floating down the river and generally kicking back.

I don't know if we'll be back this way again, but I want to see some gorillas! There is a reserve in the Congo not too far from where we are here that is reputed to be fabulous for gorilla watching, so maybe we will check it out!
